[ARCHIVED] US HWY 40 Pedestrian Improvements Project

Graphic image of a safe school crossing -

We look forward to getting the project underway in Spring of 2019, and more importantly, completed by mid-summer. Click on the link to view the project plan. Project limits are on Hwy 40 from south of CR 8 to north of Old Victory Road.

This project is to create safe pedestrian crossings on Highway 40 for school children, adults, locals and visitors. In addition to the safety of pedestrian in the safe harbor provided within the medians, the work will provide much-needed traffic calming through our downtown.

Project funding comes from the Town of Fraser, and grants administered by the Colorado Department of Public Safety - namely Safe Routes to School and the Highway Safety Improvements Program. The contractor has extensive experience with traffic control on projects of larger scope and with similar construction as in this project.

We look forward to the getting the project underway, and more importantly, completed this coming spring. When complete, traffic will continue to be allowed to make left turns off of Hwy. 40 at intersections.
