Fraser was known as the "Icebox of the Nation" for many years. As a result, migratory Penguins seem to have selected Fraser as a winter vacation home (they may have been the origin of the second home market). It is rumored that they found it far too cold in International Falls...
In recent years it seems that the Penguins have taken a real fancy to residents who get involved in community matters...especially the Town Board of Trustees, Planning Commissioners, and occasionally staffers.
So, it seems that the message from the Penguins is..."get involved in our community!"
